By meeting the following criteria, students who complete the prescribed curriculum and meet the criteria below are guaranteed admission into Radford University.

Earn a transferable associate degree.

Earn a minimum of 2.8 cumulative GPA.

This area of study is designed for students interested in advanced degree programs in the allied health field: physical therapy, occupational therapy, athletic training, exercise physiology, cardiac rehabilitation, chiropractic medicine, or other allied health disciplines.

What Is The Impact On My Degree Of Work I Have Already Completed?

Associate Transfer Degree Completion: The completion of the transfer-oriented degree program will satisfy the REAL Curriculum (lower division/general education) requirements. Students will need to complete all other University, college, and departmental requirements in order to obtain the baccalaureate degree from RU.

Dual Enrollment – Completion of Associate Degree in HS: Students completing the associate degree in high school should apply using the freshman application. If admitted, the student will receive the benefits associated with the transferable associate degree (as noted prior).

Other Than Classes, Are There Other Program Requirements?

Students who complete an Associate's Degree are not eligible for the Early Assurance Program through the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Currently, only two prerequisite courses are permitted to be taken outside of Radford for this program. Transfer students are eligible to apply for regular admission to the DPT program.

Students need to apply to the AHS program in their sophomore year; all who meet prerequisite grade requirements are accepted in the program.

3.0 GPA is required for the major; higher GPA encouraged to be competitive for graduate school admission.

Overall 3.0 math/science GPA required; B or better grades required in: MTH 161, BIOL 101 and 141, PSY 200, MTH 245 and HLT 110.
